It appeared originally on The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction (USA, September 2003 issue) as a cover for the story "Pictures from an Expedition" by Alex Irvine. It talks about the first expedition to Mars and how each member has been chosen for qualities going from scientific skillness to mediability. During the mission a beautiful journalist aboard becomes "the Star" obscuring the striking discoveries and achievements of the real scientists. After some sabotages, they discover she has gone nuts as a consequence of the growing envy and isolation, and asks for remaining on the planet otherwise she will kill everyone on the return flight. The team agrees unanimously without informing NASA and returns back to Earth leaving her to die on Mars...
